About the Equestrian Authority

Equestrian is not only a sport, but it is an authentic Arab history and civilization, it is a value associated with the Arab people. It also played a major role in spreading noble qualities, and had a clear impact on human civilization. In the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, horses are associated with all components of society, from its first kings to the ordinary citizen. It is a historical legacy that united the land and the Saudi people since ancient times.

Equestrianism received great attention from all the leaders of the Kingdom, so they established various entities to spread equestrian culture in all its dimensions, in addition to organizing equestrian sports and games.

The Saudi government by direction of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and His Royal Highness Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince, issues a decision in April of the year 2020 to organize the “Equestrian Authority.”

 The decision aims for the Equestrian Authority to develop the equestrian sector in the Kingdom in a manner commensurate with its cultural value and its connection to heritage and culture.

 In a way that achieves the hours sports, cultural, social and economic interests, and contributes to strengthening the Kingdom's international position in various equestrian fields.
